Tour Championship Qualifying To qualify to play in the season ending championship, the player MUST be a member of the Grand Strand Golf Tour in good standing and MUST have played in (3) or more regular season events in 2010. Members who meet these conditions automatically qualify to play in the season ending Tour Championship.

87 Rule
Any Professional shooting 87 or higher in a Full Field will be automatically disqualified. Other than a full field, any player shooting and 87 or higher will be placed on probation for the next two rounds. Should that player follow with another round of 87 or higher, the player will be suspended for the next two events. Should the player shoot 87 or higher in any event following suspension, regardless of field size, the player will be automatically cut from a multi-day event and/or suspended until the player can prove his ability to compete.
Note: This rule is only applicable where weather conditions are not a controlling factor in dictating a higher scoring average for the field.

Cart fees are included in entry fees for tournament rounds.  Players are encouraged to have cart covers for inclement weather days.

Tournament Fields: Fields will be made up of the first paid 60 players with members having priority over non-members.

Caddies: Players are allowed to use a caddie during any event. Players may choose to bring their own caddie or search available caddies through the caddie pool on this web site. Caddies are independent contractors and players are responsible for negotiating caddie fees with individual caddies. The GSGT will not be held liable for any unpaid caddies but the tour will fine any player who does not meet his caddie fee obligations.

Tournament Deadlines:
The deadline for all events is typically Friday  5:00 PM prior to the first round of the tournament.  Members are encouraged to register prior to the deadline to reserve a spot in limited fields. If spots are available after this deadline, non-members will fill the remaining spots on a first paid basis.  Non-members wishing to register before this date will be placed on the waiting list.

Tournament Entry Procedure: To enter an event, players may register in the following manner:

  • On-Line Registration:  Any player can register on-line. Current members take precedence on the roster over non-members. Non-members must pay for the membership or the event prior to the posted event deadline to guarantee their position in the field.
Click on the Registration Button and follow the instructions.

  • Call-In Registration: MEMBERS ONLY - To register by phone, the player must call either the Tour Director or the Tour Coordinator listed on the event information page. Non-members are required to pay the Membership Fee in advance to reserving a spot in the field.

  • Mail-In Registration: No longer allowed

  • On-Site Registration: Only registered Members are allowed to pay on site. Non-members must pay the first event on-line and in advance of the event deadline..

Waiting List Procedure: When a tournament is FULL and a waiting list is established, members will have priority over non-members. Again, entries are dated and placed on the waiting list in the order in which they are received. If a spot opens in the tournament, members will be filled in first, then non-members, and finally amateurs.

Payment Policy:
The Grand Strand Golf Tour uses a PAYPAL account which accepts MasterCard, Visa and American Express as well as debit cards. Players paying via Credit Card must pay on-line.

Practice Rounds: Official practice round days are on the day before each tournament’s first round. See Course Info on Schedule for what the course will charge for practice rounds. Players must call the host course to arrange practice round tee times 24 hrs in advance.

Player Attire:
Slacks are PREFERRED during tournament play but shorts are allowed. Shirts are to be tucked in trousers. Hats are to be worn forward. No jeans. No flip-flops are allowed at host facilities. Slacks are required during Pro-AMs as well as  junior clinics.

Amateurs:
The Grand Strand Golf Tour welcomes and encourages amateurs to play the tour to gain valuable knowledge for playing high level competitons.  However, professionals have priority in tournament entry, and amateurs are ineligible to win any cash prizes. Amateurs are eligible to win gift certificates up to the allowable USGA limits of $750 per event.

Rainouts or Extreme Conditions: All decisions for tournaments affected by rain or extreme conditions will be made on a case-by-case basis by the Tour Officials and the host professional. Any weather shortened tournament is official only after 18 or 36 holes, with Tour Officials making every effort to complete as many rounds as possible. No partial rounds will count.
WARNING: Weather conditions may force the course to remove carts from the fairway. In this condition, players may have to walk from cart path to their ball. This is not a condition for a player to withdraw from the event. Players who are not conditioned to walking from cart path to their ball should not play the Grand Strand Golf Tour.

SEE RULES AND REGULATIONS: All players should read and familiarize themselves with the Rules and Regulations of the Grand Strand Golf Tour. In particularly, each player needs to have a full understanding of the following policies:

  • No-Show / Withdrawal

  • Pace of Play

  • Alcohol Consumption during Rounds

  • Cell Phones and Electronic Devices

  • 87 Rule
