06/24/2010 - GSGT & CPGA Sanctioning News
Gentlemen,
The Grand Strand Golf Tour is moving forward and getting the assistance from the PGA of America Carolina's Section.
This means that we will have more advertising and assistance in running a successful tour in South Carolina. The Carolinas
PGA has several marketing strategies and a proven track record which will be beneficial to the GSGT and our members.
In addition to the weekly email blast to the entire 1850 CPGA membership, the CPGA will also add our schedule, contact
info and logo to the CPGA website. Our association as a CPGA sanctioned tour will allow more members the option to play GSGT events. Our expectation is to see more PGA members participate on our tour which will generate a greater awareness in the section and across the PGA network. We fully expect to see a quantifiable increase in the size of the fields, and a viable avenue for potential sponsors for the future.
With this support also comes a nominal cost. As a "Sanctioned Tour" in the CPGA section, we will be required to pay $10
per player per event. In reflection to what advertising and marketing cost these days, the increase in event fees will be
beneficial to all of the GSGT members to see a quantifiable increases in the size of the fields and any sponsor interest
that the marketing generates.
In consideration to what it cost to play the Hooters and E-Tours, we still feel that the GSGT offers a great value to our members,
even with a $10 increase per event. Be assured that the additional $10 goes directly to the Carolina's PGA Section and will be
reflected on all future P&L sheets posted at every event.
The $10 is only per event per player so it wont matter if we have an one day or two day event.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact Steve Clark at 843-457-9709 or Will Schatz at 843-267-2510.
The next event is at Barefoot Resort and Golf on the Fazio Course on July 6th and tee times will start at 12:04pm.
The price for Professionals will stay at $175 and Amateurs will be $100. We do have sponsorship money for this event and
it is at a great course. Please sign up on line or contact Will Schatz for registration. Please note that players must
be registered to receive the practice round discount of $35 on Sunday and Monday July 4th and 5th after noon based on availability.

I want to personally thank Will Schatz for making my life a little
easier. Even though Will is a minor partner in ownership, he has
taken the lead in redirecting the Grand Strand Golf Tour. His desire
to make the Tour successful and the effort he is putting forth for
the players of the Tour is commendable. I can honestly say that Will
has saved this tour for 2010 and his ideas and efforts greatly
improve the outlook for the Grand Strand Golf Tour's future.

2010 TOUR NEWS
Gentleman:
I am sure that many of you are wondering what
direction the GSGT is taking this year. Very simply we are trying
to entice more players and sponsorship money. We have already had a
few sponsors commit to contributing to the 2010 season. We have
also dropped the entry fees for the events to make playing on the
GSGT more affordable and appealing to the local professionals in
the area. We have primarily scheduled our events on Monday's and
Tuesday's and primarily afternoon tee times to benefit the local
professionals and player's who play on other tours. Here is an
updated schedule for the 2010 season and the entry fee's for all
players this year.
2 day event 1 day
event
Professionals
$275 $150
Amatures
$125 $75
There will also be a $75 Member Fee to play on the
GSGT for the entire year
Note that some events on
the 2010 schedule may have slightly increased entry fees due to
course costs, venues, and time of year. Such events are noted by an
* next to the date and will be increased by $25
with the exception of the match play event at River Hills.

Wild Wing Events in August Moved
to Burning Ridge
The Grand Strand Golf Tour has moved the Wild Wing events scheduled
for Aug 8th and Aug 11-12 across
the Hwy to Burning Ridge GC. The GSGT management was not able to
negotiate a reasonable contract agreement with the Wild Wing
Plantation management and the decision was made to move the events.
Both events will now be contested on the Burning Ridge Golf course
which is directly across the entrance to Wild Wing on Hwy 501.

The Grand Strand Golf Tour is announcing the revised 2009 summer

the region. We are sending out e-mails to all of the players in our

WINTER/SPRING SERIES CANCELLED
The management of the Grand Strand Golf Tour is sad to announce the immediate
cancellation of remainder of WINTER/SPRING Series. Due to the economic conditions
and lack of player interest, the tour is not able to continue at this time.
First and foremost, we would like to thank all of the players who were loyal to the
Grand Strand Golf Tour. We truly appreciate your patronage and wish you all the best in your professional
golf career endeavors.
We have put a lot of blood, sweat, tears and money into this tour over the last 4 years in the hopes
of building a first class professional developmental tour. While we were successful in gaining multi-national recognition
with players and advertisers, we have fallen short of our goals in
acquiring local sponsors. Sponsorship
is the lifeblood of any sports entertainment business if you plan to succeed. It is unfortunate the tour
could not attract sponsors like many other have that are not in this region of South Carolina.
SUMMER SERIES CANCELLED
The tour management is evaluating player interest in salvaging some part of the
SUMMER Series. We will spend the month of May reorganizing the tour, paying off our outstanding
debt and evaluating player interest to determine if we will have a SUMMER Series.
Our current intent is to announce a shortened Summer Series Schedule that does not conflict
with the e-Golf Tour or the Hooter's Tour. If we receive
enough player interest and we can secure sponsors for these events, the Schedule will be announce in mid May.
2009 PLATINUM MEMBERS

refund. If you have any questions, please contact Steve Clark @ 843-457-9205.
